About Hidden Clues
Hidden Clues is a free hidden object game that you can play in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. You are Inspector Nova, a detective who is called to eleven crime scenes, from a sunny meadow to the edge of a galaxy. At every scene the Chief sends you an order, such as find 5 brushes or find 10 spoons, and you must tap every item on the list before the clock runs out. The scenes are packed with objects, and the clues hide behind other items, so a careful eye matters more than fast fingers.
The game has 99 cases in 11 worlds and the challenge grows with every case. Early cases give you plenty of time and large clues. Later cases make the clues smaller, add more orders to the list and sprinkle in lookalike decoys that cost you extra time if you tap them. Fog banks drift across the scene, flocks of bats and birds block your view, poltergeists suddenly move the clues to new places, and in the darkest cases you must search by lantern light, dragging the light around the scene and tapping what you find.
Every ninth case is a showdown with a master thief. The thief attacks in three waves, throws smoke bombs and steals clues right from under your nose, so stay calm and keep searching. Find items quickly one after another to build a combo that adds bonus seconds to the clock, and watch for the golden sparkle that gives you extra time and coins.
You get a few free hints in every case. If you need more help, you can use the Hint button with coins or by watching a short video, and you can also buy a Scan, extra time or a Freeze that stops the clock. Easy, Medium and Hard modes change the clock, the number of free hints and the size of the clues, so beginners and experts enjoy the same story at their own pace.
Tips for Hidden Clues
- Search the scene in slow sweeps from one corner to the other instead of jumping around. Wrong taps cost time and three quick mistakes lock the screen for a moment.
- Look for the shape and colour of one order at a time, then move on to the next.
- Do not tap lookalike decoys. If something is almost right, it is probably a trap.
- Keep your free hints for the last clue, because the final items are always the hardest to spot.
