About Solitaire

Solitaire, also known as Klondike, is the classic one-player card game, and you can play it here for free on your phone, tablet or computer. The goal is to move all 52 cards to the four foundation piles at the top, building each suit up from the Ace to the King. In the seven columns below you build down in alternating colours: a red Seven goes on a black Eight, a black Six goes on a red Seven, and so on.

Tap a card and the game moves it to the best place, or drag it yourself. Tap the deck to draw a card. You can choose Draw 1 for a relaxed game or Draw 3 for a real challenge. If you get stuck, press Hint to see a possible move, or Undo to take back as many moves as you like. When every card is face up, the Auto finish button completes the game for you.

Press Daily deal for a shuffle that is the same for every player today, so you can compare your time and moves with friends. The game saves your current deal in the browser, so you can close the page and continue later, and it keeps your best time and fewest moves.

Solitaire tips

• Always move Aces and Twos to the foundations as soon as you can.
• Prefer moves that turn over a face-down card in the biggest column.
• Keep an empty column for a King, and do not empty a column unless a King is ready.
• Before you draw from the deck, check whether a move on the table already exists.
